She made a face of disgust, "He is trying to get me to go into his old house... and he wont shut up and he is being embarrassing." Melek peeked a look at the yelling guy. "And because I am soooooo going to be in trouble when he finds me... He will be angry." She frowned and hid her face. Mel was trying to get the sympathy vote from this guy though she did just want to hide from her father for those exact reasons. Melek kept eyeing the yelling man then looking up at the guy she was hiding behind. A small smile of thanks came to her mouth as her father still hadnt found her yet. Mel looked at the guy, hoping that he would still hide her and hoping that her father would go away. The girl had a bit of dirt on her jeans now as she hid.
She didn't want him to see her. He nodded along. That much was obvious, yeah. He just... didn't understand why. "Is... is he your dad?" he asked, still pretending to be looking for something in his bag. The story continued and Alec found himself smiling. "That's... not a bad thing, yeah? I mean... dads are meant to be embarrassing. Some of them. It's... it's in the Father Handbook." He was sure of it. ... You know, if the man was the girl's father.

... Oh. Angry. "But... why is he going to be angry? You're not running away, are you?" Did this mean that things were bad over at this girl's house? He... hoped not. "I... hey! Maybe... maybe he won't be so mad if I was nearby..." You don't shout at people in front of strangers, yeah? Or... maybe this would make the man even madder. Because the girl was small and she was talking to a complete stranger.

... Confused Summers was confused.
