Jewel was very nervous with anxiety. She was an only-child, so she didn't have any siblings to compare to. Her dad was the wizard, and he got her to the wand shop by carrying her the whole way. Jewel walked up to the shop-keeper and stuck her arm out, waiting for the magical tape measure. She was practically bouncing and giggling the whole time. This wasn't so bad after all.
