Adelaide all but ran into Ollivander's, eager to buy her first wand. Her parents trailed behind her, dressed as usual in the outlandishly vibrant colours and strange fabrics that Adelaide felt ashamed of out on the streets of London, but seemed to fit in perfectly here amongst the real magic. Her parents were Muggles, but you wouldn't know it from their dress.
Everyone seemed to be crowding around a wide open area in the middle of the shop, so naturally Adelaide headed in that direction too. Her eyes widened when she saw the enchanted measuring tape flying around. She wondered what type of magic was used on it, and when she would learn that at Hogwarts. She waited for her turn, fidgeting restlessly while her parents stared around in rapture, muttering to each other about the spells and enchantments "obviously" at work here. Finally the measuring tape flew over to her and started measuring her. Addie stared at it incredulously as it went about its business, just this simple magical object enough to captivate the young Muggleborn.
