Josh was a wonderful father, and she knew it too, though there were times when the twins were squirming in his arms that just made her body tense and hair stand on end. Her own grip on Ryder tightened, despite his more mild personality, just enough to make herself calm down. "Of course they're too young to take care of a pet." They were barely walking and talking after all.

"What I mean..." Furrowing her eyebrows, she shook her head. "Didn't you grow up with a pet?"
