So excited she was, she had Carter pushing Connor's stroller. She wasn't good with the thing to begin with, and now that there were creatures everywhere, so many creatures that she wanted to look at, she was going to be even worse and she would probably cause some kind of accident. And not the good kind of accident either. The good kind of accident where she crashed into one of the pet cages and freed all the animals that she could go and collect later. Definitely not one of them.
She was walking on tip-toes to see inside all the cages, and purposely ignoring Carter, she moved over to where the Crups were and bent down in front of them. To anyone who didn't know her, it might've just looked like she was LOOKING at them. But she was really trying to see how strong the gates were. Maybe she could accidentally let them out and collect them later? "But Carterrrrr.." she didn't even bother turning to look at him, because she already knew what he was going to say.
"How can we just get one? LOOKATTHEMALL." Was he looking? Was he? She didn't know, because she still wasn't looking at him. Oops. And there went his wife. Carter stood watching. He gently rocked the stroller with his foot on the bottom bar.
"You're not trying to break into the cages... are you?" he asked with raised eyebrows. Because, that would be frowned upon. Jails and babies didn't mix well.
... and there was the but Carter. He closes his eyes. He was not going to fall for it again. He peeked out of one of his eyes. Oh good. She wasn't looking. That made saying no easier.
"Just one."
