Altair bit his lower lip again, "Sorry, this is all kind of new to us." He shrugged and began to rock on his heels as he was anxious to see what the woman had in store for him. "I know just the friend for you, then," Cade studied the young boy's interactions with his father and his reaction to her questions before deciding. This was someone who needed a friend and familiar face at Hogwarts, someone clever... and a connection with home.
She wandered over to the owl cages and returned with a large fellow hooting softly to himself. "This is Merlin. He's very tame... he was trained for owl post but didn't quite have the temperament for it. I think he's too fond of toast and tea, to be honest. He'll be your very good friend at Hogwarts, and you and your father can use him to send letters to each other. It's far faster than Muggle post."
