Sophie was torn between two different scenarios.

1. Should Caleb go first? If this didn't work out, and they were turned away on the spot, it'd look better on her if she put this all on Caleb.

...but.

2. Should she go first? What if this ended up working out? Did she REALLY want to spoon feed Caleb all the glory?! NO WAY.

However--...

3. (Because there was a third one, after all)... What if she went first and then if it DIDN'T work out, she could somehow pin it all on Caleb anyway?

...okay. Option THREE it was!

Sophie gestured for her brother to follow her and confidently approached the staff table. She eyed all its inhabitants just in case one of them took over as Head of House. She needed to know who to suck up to. She passed a short-lived grin across the table then turned to her grandmother.

"Ahem," she started. "Erm, Professor Lafay? Caleb and I would like to say something." Something very quick, so they wouldn't miss the train. She guided Caleb forward with her hand. "Go ahead, Caleb."
