Carnivals? Grin! "I don't know but we could look it up? It'd be nice if we could find one nearby." She'd always liked them, especially the Ferris wheels. There was something really cool about being up that high and being able to see all the carnival lights from that vantage point. She smiled a little just thinking about it. Alec's question broke her reverie and she look at him sheepishly, trying to work out what he'd asked. Something...about stalls? OH! "Not too hard. I mean, you sort of just try and make sure no one gets hurt and everyone is having fun." And following the rules. That was important too.

She felt a bit better about things now and Ella smiled a little, playing with the hem of her dress absently. "Well now you know?" And she was allowed to know the little things, right? Girlfriends should know this kind of stuff. It had to be in the handbook somewhere.

"You're welcome." It was true even if he didn't think so. Alec always looked nice. Something about his face complimenting any outfit. His hair too. It all just worked.

The chocolate éclair was taken and the boyfriend got a GRIN because that was a solid choice. Apple wedges were good too and she couldn't exactly refuse them so she took one and placed it on her knee for later. See? She liked what he'd picked out. "Thanks! It looks good, doesn't it?" NOM!

Quit it? That wasn't happening anytime soon because... look at what just happened! Hugs! Grinning, he hugged her back, squeezing her a little. "I'm really glad!" Mainly because of the hug. Did she know that that was what he was going for...?

She had to say those three words. Not... the ones that talked about love, but a certain other three words that... made him grin sheepishly. And ruffle his hair. There was lots of that going on, too. "You're doing it again, Gummy Worms Girl." She was probably doing this on purpose, too. Sneaky girlfriend. "Yeah, I do."

Look it up? Alec nodded enthusiastically at that suggestion. "That sounds like a great idea! And... yeah. Yeah, it would be," ... Pause. "Has Caleb been to one before?" Or... would the boy end up feeling like a third wheel? Questions, questions. ... Try... and make sure no one gets hurt. He shook his head. "I don't know how you do it." And not just her... everyone. Student leaders. ALL of them.

Sigh. SIGH. Fiddling with her dress, the girlfriend was. Alec... ruffled his hair and looked away, trying his hardest to concentrate on the food and the basket instead. This was going to be added to the list of things the girl should NOT do. Ever. "Yeah... I do," Still looking away. Food. Basket. No distractions.

Now it was his turn to be sheepish and grin to himself and fiddle with his own hair. He grinned over at her, too, before looking back at the basket. "Yeah, it does!" he said, reaching into the basket to pull out a chocolate éclair for himself too, "The house elves make really awesome food!" If only he had even half of their talent.
