When it came to Alec's turn to carve, "You can do it, Spiffy!" His fist raised slightly to cheer him on. Watching as it glowed and everything, in between singing sweet lullabies for the horsie and patting her gently. It wasn't easy either, since Wade loved seeing shiny and bright things.
Finally though it ended, and he beamed back at Alec. "Brilliant work, mate!" Giving him another bro fist pump before facing the horse again, "You did amazing, thanks for trusting us." Giving it another pat and stroke. So then, what was next? Names were hard to think of, Alec knew that. It was the reason as to why he took... what? Three days to name his puppy? Yeah. If it wasn't for Ells, Chip would probably have remained nameless. But... despite this, Alec was still going to help the guy think of the perfect name. Think... think... "Nicole?" Nicole the horse... Alec tilted his head and patted the horse some more. "Hey... Nicole?" The horse turned his head towards Alec, making the boy grin. "Yeah... Nicole's perfect! Good job, Curly!"
The encouragement from his partner? Yeah... very much appreciated. Nodnod. And what else was appreciated were the lullabies that were being sung because it helped to keep the horse at bay. Which was especially good since he didn't know what he'd do if the horse ran away while he had still been invoking the runes. So... yeah. Thanks Curly! "Thanks, mate!" he said, grinning at the boy. ... And... yeah. Someone else did need to be congratulated too. "Yeah... what Curly said. Awesome job, Nicole!" And this did form a new bond between them and the horse, right? Which meant that the horse was likely to let them ride on her towards the...
... Goundskeeper's hut, according to Botros.
Alec turned his attention away from the horse and over towards the older man. ... Wait... this was meant to be as easy as riding a broomstick? Wait. EASIER?! Alec looked over at Wade, eyebrows raised, before looking back at Botros. It was a good thing both of them had been on the Qudditch them, then. This shouldn't be too hard, right?
There was only one way to find out.
The seventeen year old grinned as he turned his attention back towards Wade and their horse. "So... do you want to lead the horse or invoke the runes onto the saddle?" Alec didn't really mind which one he did but the sound of leading a horse when he hadn't ridden one before -- and especially when there were obstacles in the way -- scared the boy slightly. But... he'd let Wade decide. Yeah.
