She almost winked, but refrained, force of habit probably.
Turning her attention towards her partner this time as he offered his hand to shake hers. Nicola smiled as she got a closer look at him, to see him dressed in blue robes like she. Housemates, big plus! She knew he looked kind of familiar! Mo was his name? ...Was it short for something? Who knew, she was sure she'd find out at some point. She nodded in response before she said, "Name's Nicola."
Seeing his eyes travel to the Professor once more, her eyes soon followed to watch the Professor cast the spell in order for the wings of the Granian to shrink. Nicola's eyes winced quickly as she watched the horse become a little agitated briefly, thus only making Nicola want to run to the poor creature & comfort it. Although soon relaxing once the Professor had calmed it down. Clearly noting, that it wouldn't be of the Granian's liking once you cast the spell.
In response to Mo, Nicola replied, "Think I'll choose the Thurisaz rune..And I couldn't agree with you more..I'd find that very important to establish that trust if we're to get anywhere with this majestic creature.."
Nicola. She was
very pretty. Did she know? She sort of carried herself like she didn't know, which was even prettier. He nodded in agreement when she spoke up. They were of the same mind, then... the Granian would have to be totally comfortable with them before the bespelled it, and neither of them wanted to hurt it.
"Do you suppose he has a name we should use properly? I always think that it's more polite to call someone by their proper name and not just it or him. If it can be helped." Mo stepped forward and ran a calming hand over the soft nose of the horse before giving him a little nuzzle. A polite nuzzle, though.
Granians were beautiful, although he preferred Abraxans because they were bigger and a little scary, and those were essentially Mo's qualifications for interesting creatures. "I loaned my Dagiz to someone, so I"m doing Thurisaz too. If you don't mind. Also, if you don't mind... maybe I can change the hair and you can change the wings?" He'd beg if he had to, but Mo just wouldn't have the heart to do the spell properly.

"But horses are like all the other creatures, they sense changes around them quickly and very early and instinctively interpret them as danger. So," Ab moved to the closest Granian near them and placed his hand gently on his neck, "The horse will always be uncomfortable when he senses magic is about to hit him. It's the way he expresses his nervous state. Just like if I wanted to change your hair color, even if you trust me, you'll still be a little nervous. You express nerves by talking endlessly during the process," There was a friendly jab here, hehe, "The horse kicks the ground and wiggles his head." Botros removed his hand from the Granian he chose for them, and paused. "Don't worry about it."
That was a 'no', by the way.[/size]
So... no, then. Mo gave Botros another nod, totally understanding the subtext of what was
not being said. He had no choice, then, and going to talk to Botros hadn't really done him any good in the end. It was fine to say that you didn't have to hurt a creature if you could tell it was uncomfortable, but when put to the test, the professor was saying just to do whatever you wanted and show no concern for the creature's wishes.
It was
very disappointing, and Mo tried not to let the hurt show on his face. Maybe he should just drop Runes too, if that was the attitude about practicing on creatures.
"Yes, sir, Professor," Mo turned back to the Granian and gave him another nuzzle.
