I think I might be the last one without a partner. Could I join you and your horse?"
She held her hand out slowly in front of her, palm upwards, for the horse to sniff before she got any closer. She didn't have much experience with horses specifically, but she did like animals of all kinds, so she hoped she and the horse would get along well enough. Hmm? Oh. Botros nodded enthusiastically at the fourth year, "Sure, Ms Dawnsel. Feel free to communicate with the horse while I go and talk to Marco." The boy had his hand up in the air and it would take more than just a dismissive sentence to get him to work with them. But first, the professor moved his wand across the horse, "Finite Incantatem." The Granian was back to its original shape. "You may use the spell on him afterwards." He put his hand gently on her shoulder then moved towards Nicola and Marco. Quote:

His housemate, in fact, so he was happy to work with her.
"Hi. Mo," he pointed to himself instructively. Names were learned now. Mo turned his attention to Botros and the Granian, cringing slightly when it became obvious that the winged horse did not like the spell being cast on him. When it was time for them to practice, Mo's hand shot up in the air. "Professor, if the horse doesn't want to lose his wings, can we just make the hair change?"
Mo eyed the Granians again before giving Nicola a nod. "You can choose one. I think we ought to make friends with it, if we can, and maybe then it won't mind so much that we're removing his wings." After an encouraging smile towards the older Ravenclaw, "We're not making the horse lose his wings. We're giving the horse a new look, and enhancing his speed and strength with runic magic." Botros hoped the boy would look at it this way.
"But horses are like all the other creatures, they sense changes around them quickly and very early and instinctively interpret them as danger. So," Ab moved to the closest Granian near them and placed his hand gently on his neck, "The horse will always be uncomfortable when he senses magic is about to hit him. It's the way he expresses his nervous state. Just like if I wanted to change your hair color, even if you trust me, you'll still be a little nervous. You express nerves by talking endlessly during the process," There was a friendly jab here, hehe, "The horse kicks the ground and wiggles his head." Botros removed his hand from the Granian he chose for them, and paused. "Don't worry about it."
That was a 'no', by the way.
Now off to check on the other students before he went back to his Granian. Cambridge and Somerlad were doing... good from where he stood. Though with that Gryffindor, you should always be worried. There was the mute boy and a Gryffindor, too. The two little kids seemed okay, though Botros wanted them to practice right next to them, just in case. And then the hardworking Hufflepuffs. Everyone seemed to be handling the Granians well! ooc: - don't forget to put the runstones (Dagaz or Thurisaz) on the wand while casting the spell! That's the point of this class.
