He raised his eyebrows at the hesitation in her answer but didn't say anything about it. He shrugged his shoulders at her question. "It's okay. I would prefer to be out catching some waves." But it was time to settle down and all that. He wasn't going to be young forever.

A smoothie. Alysson followed his gaze again, nodding slowly. "Sounds good." In case he'd wanted her opinion on his choice of beverage. She took another sip of her coffee while Oliver ordered his drink. Oh, catching some waves? She grinned at that, giving him a rather curious look. "So you surf then?" Now THAT was something she'd never done before.
Her eyes briefly drifted off towards the seating area again, wondering if maybe taking a seat would be a good idea when he asked her another question. She thought about this for a moment, bringing the coffee mug up to her lips again. "Well, I've always worked in that field and I love it...so, yes, actually yes it is." Work-wise, of course. They were talking about work, right?
Because naturally, there WERE other things in life she would value higher than working for the Ministry. |
