Simon took the bait of further activity and ventured out of the entrance hall and into the party proper. His stride might appear purposeful even though he was actually wandering not entirely sure of where he was going. There were only a few people linger around including one he could actually identify as a head. International Cooperation if he wasn't totally mistaken and he gave the man a nod. However it was the presense of his boss that caught him off guard. Though he supposed just like he was observant of people, so was Emily and the older auror would want to be well informed of who was in charge.
Approaching her, Simon gave her a polite nod as well. "Good evening..." he greeted.
Standing around and waiting to 'meet' and 'greet' people she knew, among those that she didn't was already boring her into a coma. Emily stood patiently, almost statue-like herself, until one of her own approached.
"Bennett," she greeted, with a dip of the head - though it wasn't quite a nod or a bow, just a small gesture of respect. ", welcome back to the Ministry, and Happy New Year," she greeted, see, she could do this. Be nice and inviting and such. Could she go now? SPOILER!!: Roxanne Quote:

Anyway, after giving the centaur fountain/sculpture a 'Really?' look, Roxanne leaned against the wall and waited for someone to approach her. It was then that they were joined by more people. One she didn't know that looked lost... fortunately it wasn't a new recruit of hers. That much she could ascertain from having read the applications. This one, was not MLE. Then of course there was Roxanne.
"Roxanne," Emily acknowledged out loud, seeing as she hadn't received so much as a welcome or hello from her, not that she expected one, but for the sake of professionalism and all. They were familiar, not that anyone would have been able to tell.
