There was no denying everything looked immaculate, and she was excited to be getting back to work, properly, not just creating tasks for herself at home in the break, this is what she wanted. With a few exceptions...
'Meeting' and 'greeting' were not among her strongest talents, and she strongly disliked mingling with people in general. The only consolation was that she wouldn't have to hang around for too long, just long enough to have made a show of it, then, she could grab some food and sit in a corner to observe the proceedings.
Where was Wes? Was he not going to hold her hand through this? Metaphorically speaking of course.. hand holding was.. sensitive and implied caring, which she wasn't a fan of. Emily - scanning the area for any sign of her old boss!man - arrived at the area designated for meeting and greeting beside a sculpture of a centaur, to which Emily failed to comprehend its point. Why. Was. It. There? Instantly, she felt ill at ease in her dress with the shoes and the works... she needed Wes. More so to justify why she had to do this, why was meeting people on level two not an option? Why was this a part of her job description?
Emily acknowledged the other assembled DH's with a curt nod. Yes. She was here. See... witnesses. Simon took the bait of further activity and ventured out of the entrance hall and into the party proper. His stride might appear purposeful even though he was actually wandering not entirely sure of where he was going. WIth one decision he found himself at the meet and greet that had been set up for employees to meet the various department heads of the ministry.
There were only a few people linger around including one he could actually identify as a head. International Cooperation if he wasn't totally mistaken and he gave the man a nod. However it was the presense of his boss that caught him off guard. Though he supposed just like he was observant of people, so was Emily and the older auror would want to be well informed of who was in charge.
Approaching her, Simon gave her a polite nod as well. "Good evening..." he greeted.
