Borage : Is thought to be able to restore courage. Is also used for medicinal purposes such as for the treatment of cold and flu symptoms. Basil : Comes from the Greek word meaning King and can be related to the basilisk. Warming. Sarsaparilla : ~~Used in the treatment of skin conditions.~~ In relation to Gryffindor the Sarsaparilla berries are red. Performance enhancing, nutritious. Slytherin Tea Horsetail : Can be mood altering and has been known to increase alertness and concentration. Nettles : Have protective and healing powers and are used in potions to strip curses from the body. Lemon Balm : De-Stresses and can treat insomnia. Hibiscus : Soothes and stimulates. Can be used in the treatment of hypertension. Ravenclaw Tea Earl Grey Black Tea : Has been used as an anti-depressant and can help with anxiety problems. Lavender : Often used in love potions. Has properties of purification, happiness and peace. Ginko : Can protect and promote cognitive function. Peppermint : Often used in healing potions and lotions and in protection spells. Hufflepuff Tea Caraway : Soothing herb, increases appetite and aids in digestion. Chickweed : Cleansing/detox. Licorice : Only used in love potions, is said to be calming.
