Welcome Back Employees!!

Your new Department Head, Cale Newell, is really looking forward to meeting you all! When you get a chance, pop into his office and say hi to him! He'll be wandering around the level meeting everyone as well!

First things first - go enjoy yourself at the Ministry Orientation! Remember, it's black tie only, and you're free to bring a guest to the festivities. See you there!

IMPORTANT! We are currently in need of a Level 6 Liaison to the Minister! The duties of the liaison include weekly visits to the Minister to keep him informed on the happenings on the level, creating press releases with Cale if the Daily Prophet needs to be aware of something that has happened on Level 6 (such as the recent Floo Powder incident) attending meetings with other liaisons, communicating with other levels, and a few other small duties. If this interests you, please come talk to Cale!

OOC: If you're interested in this position, PLEASE PM me, Lissy Longbottom, with a little mini resume/cover letter stating why you think your character is the best for the job. I'll select a few to go into interviews with Cale IC and then we'll go from there!!

Assignments:

Apparition Team - Go decorate your brand new Classroom! Do what you'd like with it, just don't get toooooo crazy - examples of appropriate decorations are inspirational posters, Apparition dos and don'ts charts, etc. See Cale for more clarification!
OOC: Feel free to make your own graphics/take photos from Google as your "posters" and such for the room. Have fun with it! Work together to make it your own personal space!

-Also, when you get a chance, please look over the new Guidelines for Apparition License Testing in the Ministry. Lesson materials will be OWLed to you shortly.

Floo Network Authority - Even though all Ministry Floo Connections have been checked, the Diagon Alley portals have NOT been checked. Please visit the Archives and check the Diagon Alley connections that are listed as "UNCHECKED". Correct any problems there might be in the connection, and once you're finished, please inform Cale either in person or by owl so the archives can be edited.
OOC: Have fun with this! Go out into the Diagon Alley forum, interact with shopkeepers, and RP your team correcting the connections. It's up to you whether or not there are problems to be fixed! Let me know when you're done RPing and I will edit the archives thread for you!

The Office for Regulation of Brooms - Begin brainstorming pros and cons to Flying Carpet travel. I know this is not your exact area of expertise, but think outside the box and do research if necessary. Compile a list and turn it into Cale (either in person or via owl).

-Begin brainstorming new attachments/charms/etc that can be used on the new Nimbus model. A representative will be coming by in the near future to hear a presentation from your division, so be sure to create diagrams and other visuals to demonstrate your ideas to him!
OOC: Get creative with this! Again feel free to make graphics, make up spells and charms, etc. Use your imaginations!

Portkey Office - Find the portkeys that are lying around the office and deactivate them. A simple "Finite" charm should do the trick. Be sure to wear gloves or you might accidentally be transported somewhere else!
OOC: For this one, I've edited FIVE posts in the Level Six forum with portkeys! It's your job to find them and then RP your characters deactivating them in that particular thread. This is very similar to the Astronomy Long Term assignment being held in the school right now! Pay careful attention - if you RP your character touching one of the portkeys, you may be transported someone else!! Again, there are FIVE posts. They are all in separate threads, although ONE thread contains TWO edits.
