This was probably why people didn't tie rope to cake very often. It's soft texture wasn't able to support the harshness of rope. What if it was SUFFERINGG???

It didn't completely crumble to the floor but she eased up her tug, allowing it to get closer to Tag. "Stay on the alert, I don't like the way this is looking." She told him, her eyes trained on the cake. Don't fall. Don't fall. Don't fall. Lex was meant to enjoy it after this was done, not end up licking it off the floor. As much as she'd like to tell herself she wouldn't...that was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles; she so totally WOULD.

ALERT ALERT! WAIT! Lex told him to be on the lookout to have good eyes. Ok! Yes! He could do this for her! He wanted that cake just as badly as she did. Ok, maybe not as much, but still, he wanted at least one lick of the cake. It was only fair.

So, he loosened a bit on the tugging. Save the cake. Save it. Though, he still gave it a short tug. Wait. Whoops. Sorry Lex. She was supposed to be the one looking like she was putting a fight. The boy hung loose, but moved his body about making it look like he was struggling with Lex.

"Sorry. Sorry. You put up a good fight Lex!" All for the act of course. Oh, and a wink for you Lex. Now. Let's get going so that we could have cake at the end.
