With or without a desk, Forrest had brought a bag that contained a charms book. He was just a little second year, after all, so he bent down, opened the bag and brought the Charms book out. He spent a while looking for it and found it at last. He had frowned while reading the information and he spent a few minutes reading it because obviously he had to get it right. Then, once he made sure he got it right, he raised while the other still kept the book open.

"It's a magical rope, I doubt it's touchable." He paused. "The book says it's orange or golden light." So if it was wrong, he should be angry at the book, because Forrest knew nothing about the spell besides the book's description.
