Wand in hand, Cutty went back to his pruning, sort of just leaving the dispensable bits of the plant that he'd caused to fall for later gathering. "Flipnsnipwitit!" Karate chop! "Flipnsnipwitit!" Karate chop! It was kind of enjoyable, really. It would be something that he could do whilst plotting thinking of other things to do and he liked that possibility. His thoughts about thoughts interrupted by a somewhat untidy vine. "So, am I to cut everything dead off? Even if it's just overgrown?"
Once he'd shook hands with the other boy, Cutty, Tobias gathered up the dead pieces of plant and other such matter from the ground around the wiggenbush until there was nothing else to pick up. He went and deposited the suitable stuff on the compost heap and then returned to the bushes, where he decided to work on the next bush too.
While he was deciding where it would be best to use the specific severing charm, Toby heard Cutty speak again and looked over. He gave another big smile because that's how you INTERACTED with people and then answered.
"You should try and cut all the dead stuff off," Toby started, giving a tiny nod.
"And for sure any part of the plant you think might be sick, unless it's a vital part." Like the stem or roots or the main bit that went into the ground.
"And we can trim them down if they're getting overgrown too, yeah. So if you think a part is too overgrown and it's not dead, you can cut that part off too."
Tobias thought about adding that you needed good judgement with that, but people generally had common sense at knowing that, so he just stopped there.
"I think keeping them from overgrowing constitutes as caring for them."
Another big friendly grin, and Tobias looked back at the shrub before him.
"Flipnsnipwitit!" he cast, slashing his wand through the air and severing parts from the tree to trim it down a bit.
"Flipnsnipwitit!"
