She stopped sorting altogether at her question. That...that was actually a really good question that forced her to think. Not exactly something she was trying to do right now Cassia but what was done was done. "Things....people....people doing things, yeah, that last one seems the most accurate I guess." Lex's eyes ran along the candy on the floor, mentally going through her alternatives. No chocolate frogs or sugar quills, but she wanted something to munch on now and had left her candy bag up in her dorm with her faithful kneazle guarding it. No one would get any on his watch.
Lex picked up what looked like a simple lollipop...but her bestfriend wasn't one for muggle things....was it not muggle candy? Eh, she wouldn't question it, instead she ripped the wrapper of and stuffed it in her pocket then stuck the sweet in her mouth. "About an hour ago...I dunno if I'm more annoyed or...." She trailed off, not willing to admit to much more. She didn't quite know how to answer the other part so she asked a question instead. One that would hopefully clarify. "Have you ever been doing something but then while doing it, felt like you were doing something wrong and that your close friend is holding something from you then had that friend cast at you for doing what you thought you were meant to be doing the entire time?" If it sounded confusing, it was because it was. Also, this was a nice flavour of watermelon.
Now Lex stopped arranging the candy? Was she done? The piles didn't look organized. Was Lex going to FLEE!? She had history. She once fled via a ladder so running away through a corridor was definitely something that might happen. Cassia braced herself to run after her this time and grab her and not letting her go away. Nope. No more running away, you were staying right here miss Cambridge.
And she didn't, run away that is. Good news.
Cassia listened to her words and nodded her head slowly.
people doing things. Obviously. She needed more information, though.
And she kind of got it. Except that it was too complicated. The snake's eyebrows furrowed as she tried to process that. Well, since the question was 'have you', the answer was totally 'no'. But the answer didn't really matter. Like it was a way for Lex to tell what happened not to actually know if it had happened with Cassia.
The fifth-year opened her mouth to say something then closed it deciding on the words she was gonna use. "
Wrong is relative, though," She said as a start. And since it had only happened like an hour ago, then Lex must not have had much time to think of it or wait it out. Her thoughts probably were still jumbled. "
If you truly trust that close friend then they must have a reason," She said after another pause. What she didn't add was
'or they're not the friend you thought they were'. She was supposed to make Lex feel better.
"
And if it's very confusing or surprising then you must be missing something essential?" She half told half suggested. Needless to say, Cassia herself was confused by this statement. "
And anyway, try not to let things get to you if you can help it," Easier said than done, huh? Especially that Cassia wasn't there at whatever Lex had just witnessed. But that what they were supposed to remind each other of, right? Not caring.
