Lex glanced over at her, feeling her fingers twitch just a bit from their new found lack of activity. "There's lots on my mind. None of it good." She pulled her hand away, this time deliberately focusing on the sweets already in some form of order on the floor. The silence had been lovely but she knew, yes, she knew that that question would be the start of a conversation and the end of the comfortable silence they'd been sitting in just now. Funny...Cassia was out of chocolate frogs. Did she need her to get her some? It wouldn't be a problem, those were a necessity.

While she sorted, it occurred to her that she might very well have been keeping Cassia waiting. Her earlier answer wasn't exactly an answer afterall. Lex plopped another fizzing whizbee in the 'interesting' pile before giving her her full attention again. "Just very unexpectedly hurtful things I guess." There was a shrug added to that but she resisted the urge to move the pack of jelly beans over to the 'cheap' pile. No sorting right now.
Cassia no longer knew what pattern Lex was following in arranging the candy. Was there even a pattern? She thought it might be by color at first. But then it obviously wasn't? Was that...taste? She knew that her bestfriend knew her taste well but she couldn't think of how she would split them in groups. So Cassia put her hand down on her knee and continued watching Lex.

The snake sighed again hearing Lex's response. She was wondering and trying to figure out what could have caused the lioness to feel down and so upset. Her first was AIDAN! THAT BOY! What had he done again?!! But then again, the two had made up and he wasn't that dumb to fight with Lex again.

She was getting impatient and was about to ask again but thankfully Lex spoke again. Cassia listened and processed what she heard. "Things or people?" She quietly asked trying to know more. "What happened? and when?" If it's new then Lex's feelings might still be raw and time might help. The lioness could be in shock right now. Cassia decided to be careful before casting any judgement.
