About the Competition If you travel through the first light snowfall in the tiny village of Hogsmeade, walk all the way to the end of High Street in town, and then walk a little ways more, you might just see a beautiful, large arena seemingly emerge out of nowhere from the surrounding evergreen trees and white, snowy fog. Welcome to the first ever Quiz Bowl Scholarship Competition, sponsored by the European Bureau of Wizarding Education! This competition is basically the Triwizard Tournament of academics--- and it's just as prestigious too! Each pair competing in it will face a task which they must solve using only their wands, their academic content knowledge, and their teamwork abilities.
Students within this competition have been chosen for their proven academic prowess by their professors and headmasters/headmistresses. They are all of high character and moral development and all represent the very best qualities of their respective schools. They have then been paired by their strengths in each tested subject, and will be competing in the order and at the times below.
Although you in the audience can see all three separate but equal arenas (Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and Hogwarts), please remember that the competitors within each arena can neither see nor hear you. Your support is welcomed and encouraged, but if you cross the line from 'support' to 'giving away answers,' you will be forcibly removed from the grandstands, given a hefty fine, possibly prosecuted by Magical Law Enforcement, and banned from all future EBWE competitions.
But please, enjoy the show! And remember, if you require libations or desire to buy some support, you're more than welcome to swing by the Board of Governors' table.
