"Hey," she added nonchalantly. There. That sounded cooler.
"Classes are going good," Fern responded vaguely, not wanting to admit that the Arithmancy class (but especially its homework) had gone right over her head, and the whole flying over a lake inhabited by a giant squid with a hankering for human flesh in Astronomy had been beyond terrifying. Normally, she would have inquired how the older girl's classes were going, but Fern decided not to this time. She had seen Minnie's beards. And her reactions. And having had to paint with a beard herself, she didn't need to ask how that had been.
It was with these thoughts that Fern cried,
"YES!" to Minnie's next question with double enthusiasm.
"I'm SO EXCITED!!! And it doesn't matter to me! How do you want to do it?!" So focused on nail painting, Fern didn't notice Claudette approach until the Ravenclaw was saying hi.
"CLAUDETTE!" Fern greeted, scrunching against Minnie to make room on the bench for her friend,
"Yes we are! Do you want one!!??"
Please, oh please, oh please say yes!!!
Minerva smiled at the girls excitement. She adored Fern and loved how excited she got. It was great to get to meet her over the summer and she loved getting to know her more now. Giving the girl a hug before settling down next to her Minerva shrugged.
"It's up to you. You are the professional here." She had helped Min a ton over summer when she had forgot that she only had so much money to spend and went on her way to much shopping spree. So she knew that Fern would know the best way to start the nail painting.
"I do have a quidditch match coming up, maybe we can do our nails for house pride. Will you come watch the match?" She hoped the young girl would, but did she even like quidditch. Min wasn't to sure of that answer.
"Are you a fan of the game?" Most wizards were, but there were a few that weren't. She knew some. Just then she heard someone else and looked.
"Claudette, yes we are." Min giggled at Fern's reaction.
"Yes like Fern said join us." She didn't know the girls knew each other, but she was glad they did.
"Have you two met before?" Of course it seemed like they had, but you couldn't be to sure of things.
