She didn't have long, however, before it came back to herself. "Aresto Momentum! Aresto Momentum!" It took her two tries, but eventually the pencil floated lazily toward her and she plucked it out of the air with a grin.
Couldn't be perfect all the time, could she? "Another go?" Without waiting for a response, the pencil was back in the air. She was clapping? Clapping at what? Nicola looked at the girl and then quickly realized she was clapping at her, of course! For catching the pencil or was it for performing the Incantation? She wasn't really sure, but still, she was getting applauded for something. She smiled and flipped her hair out of her face to take a moment to acknowledge this. "Thank you, thank you.." She knew, she was brilliant. Nicola sighed feeling proud of herself.
When Nicola watched the girl panic a little bit trying to stop the pencil, saying the incantation twice, she was expecting it to hit her. She raised her wand preparing to stop it for her, but then thankfully the younger girl managed to stop it in time. Nicola breathed a small sigh of relief, then she returned the smile.
Another go? Of course! Nicola was up for it. "Whenever you're ready!" Nicola could barely get that sentence out, because the pencil was once more hurtling towards her. She hesitated a moment but said it clear enough to be heard, "Arresto-Momentum!" At first, it hadn't slowed down, making her a little nervous, but then her relief kicked in once it had again slowed it's speed. She looked at her, "Did you want to slow it once more, then practice stopping it?" Nicola did believe that was what was required for the homework, if she did remember it correctly. "Slow it down!" Nicola quickly hurtled it towards her once more, being cautious with her wand ready in case the girl almost faltered again. |
