And to be honest he didn't think he was the right person to help her.
He did smile though as she talked about destroying bludgers and muggles. She had a point in both regards. "It is interesting. And when you think about it, these muggle superheroes surely got their powers through magic." Because how else would they get them? He let out a small chuckle. "That they do. Some of their ideas are even better than ours." Like their phones and computers. Those things were awesome.
.......
She seemed really concerned about his wellbeing and not wanting him to die which was sweet and all but she was still determined to throw a rock at his head. Michael felt the need to point this out but he couldn't seem to find his voice at the moment.
Besides he needed to concentrate on creating a shield strong enough to stop a rock from shattering it. He breathed in and out slowly while Alexa took her sweet time in throwing the rock. He wished she would hurry up and get it over with.
He was watching her hand, the one that held the rock, and when she drew back, Michael shifted his weight and leaned forward a little. And when the rock left her fingers, he was ready.
"PROTEGO!!" he yelled.
There wasn't even a stutter or hiccup as the invisible shield went up in front of him. And just in time too because a second later the rock that Alexa had thrown hit it and rebounded away.
She was just going to continue ignoring things and hope they got better. Granted that never solved anything but it was all she could do in this given situation. Moving on? Seemed legit. She smiled over at him not having thought about
it that way before.
"You think magic might be what gives them such a boost?" She had magic, but still couldn't fly unless she grabbed her broom and would crumple at a hit that was hard enough. Her magic needed to take a hint...not that she was encouraging it to be like the muggle kind because that was just g
ross.
Ideas better than their own? She didn't know about that. It all seemed pretty mundane to her but that was probably because she lived in Muggle Britain and was too accustomed to them. They weren't super, just...they were just
there.
"I dunno. I'm not overly impressed by the stuff they have."
Also, was it her or did Michael seem a bit apprehensive?...Like he didn't want her h
urling a giant rock at his forehead?
It was a bit too late for that seeing as she'd already thrown but with her eyes closed it took her an extra second to realize that he was just fine. There were no sudden screams of pain, no second year flailing around and knocking into her. Dare she open her eyes? She DID and nearly squealed when she saw him in one piece for a couple of reasons. The most important being that he was still alive and conscious but the other was just as needed to note.
"Excellent!! Cast like that and maybe the tree won't get you!" GRIN.
"Now then, after we get the low branches I was thinking I'd levitate you closer to the top and you can get the gear up there--has to be you...I don't think you'd be able to proper levitate me more than a few inches...maybe a foot off the ground." On account of body mass and magic level. Basic stuff.
"Unless you don't wanna." She didn't want him flailing mid-air. That was a recipe for getting shield charms wrong then getting a horrible beat down by the tree.
Cringe.
