At least she wouldn't tear up the whole Hufflepuff common room, though.

Melanie admired the strokes. So this is what a real artist did. Melanie couldn't do that. She couldn't even draw a stick figure properly. The most exciting thing she had ever drawn was pokemon and that took her forever. "That's really nice," Melanie said, pointing at the water coming out of the fountain... the one in the picture. Not the one in front of them.

Ginger was de-clawed.

That didn't sound pleasant. "So she won't scratch up my bag?" she asked, looking at the little kitten. And her? Melanie didn't want to go back to the dorm with cat scratches everywhere. And when Dylan said "first brought her home" she sure hoped Dylan meant from a store and not a stray. Because Melanie was pretty sure those were dangerous. "Did it hurt for her to y'know... get de-clawed?" And did those claws ever grow back because Melanie didn't wanna get scratched.
