Tag just stared at Cassia as she swayed in all directions. What was she doing? "Errr, are you planning to ski your way into making the pancakes?" he asked smiling at his lame joke. Anything to break this weird silence. Hopefully that would do it.
What was going on? The boy knew he was acting a bit more strange because he knew something, but Cassia didn't know that he knew. She was acting abnormally quiet. Cassia was never quiet. In fact, she was a bit of a chatter box at times, yes. "Cassia?!" Tag had yelped, trying to get her back to reality. We're sorry if that scared you.
And she was grabbing the bowl now. Huh? Holding the bowl her hands just stretched out in front of her. To Tag she kind of reminded him of a zombie that had been paralyzed. A zombie that was in the middle of cooking something. Now she was staring at it. Jeez, this was getting really awkward. Tag wished he didn't know. "If you're playing a staring contest with that bowl.... I think its gonna win." He spoke up, another grin spreading across his face.
Just keep cracking jokes. That usually made her smile and bring her back to her senses.
Eyebrow raise. "Well, I suspect Lex just.... just wants to ... to share her love of candy. " Tag said with a nod.
Also, he reached behind Cassia and grabbed the whisk she had placed on the countertop. "Cassia... Cassia-yes, the pancakes." In case she forgot. She seemed really out of it today.
"You had a good day. That's good. Always good to hear that."
She really didn't know where to look, like she didn't want to look at him too much. What if he didn't like people staring at him. Not that she was going to stare, she didn't stare at people. Unless they were dressed funny or something. Also, it wasn't like the first time she spent time with Tag alone, they had raced once, analyzed portraits and stuff. She never felt nervous at those times. She wished she could just act like she used to, freely, not worrying about every action.
Then his joke came and it took her a couple of seconds to process the meaning. "
..Uh.." She blinked before laughing lightly. Laughing helped to release some of the tension. Because you don't think when you laugh and she always liked Tag's jokes. She appreciated humor at all times. And now she stopped swaying. Stupid move anyway.
Apparently he noticed her getting lost in her own thoughts. Cue calling her name which got her out of her thinking bubble. When did she ever get lost thinking? She barely fell silent and now she was forgetting to talk. This was serious and not good and she so needed to snap out of it.

that was a joke as well. She knew Tag was trying to lighten the mood and he was always telling jokes but she just felt stupid. Because she didn't catch it right away and because she was a mass of nerves. The snake let go of the bowl and sat it on the table. She wiped her sweaty hands on her shorts then reached for the jar of flour and opened it.
Share her love of candy. That was convincing in other circumstances in which Cassia didn't tell Lex anything about certain feelings. "

Hearing her nickname made her smile and she felt her cheeks warming a bit. She needed to focus. "
Yeah..." She said turning to the bowl and noting that Tag got the whisker. At least someone still remembered what they were doing. "
Um...we add flour," She said doing so hoping he could take a good look at the bowl. "
Then eggs," She said putting down the flour. "
Do you like to crack the eggs?" She asked trying to sound as normal as she could muster. Except she wasn't really making eye-contact for now.
