No if she was given anything this term to make her loony he wouldn't be there to see it at least. She nodded though, "I'll probably get busy especially with quidditch and NEWTs. I still want to get my charms up and I'm going to have to focus more on Herbology since I don't have my tutor around anymore." She shuddered without meaning to at the thought of the greenhouse without him. Leaning her head down on his shoulder she shut her eyes for a second hearing that dreaded sound she was so hoping not to hear.

Knowing the train was there she knew there time was minutes, seconds, the most important moments she could want. Not budging from her seat she kept her head on his shoulder as more tears fell. Yes it was just a term and she would see him through that term, but he had been with her through so much, he had been the support she so needed. Thoughts went to the butterfly garden a memory she loved and used often. He said he would take care of her and he had done so every day. Now she had to force herself to be independent again, take care of herself. She tried to give a small smile, "I know you won't, but don't feel obligated to be around either. I don't want to take up your study time or time away from any new friends." That was the last thing she wanted to be one of those annoying girlfriends that wouldn't let their boyfriend have a life. No that wasn't her at all.

Lifting her head she gave him a sad smile, "Ethan you make me very happy. I don't know what I'd do without you." She bit her lip as it trembled and she wiped a few more tears away. "I'll send you things all the time, I promise." She shook her head, "I would never get sick of Gretchen. She is an adorable Owl and a perfect fit with the rest of the animals. Plus Gretchen means you have sent something and that I will never be tired of." She leaned in hugging him tightly and burying her face hiding from reality that it was time to go.
Ethan looked down for a moment, not sure what to say. It was true that last term had been difficult with all the crazy-induced ice cream, but he knew that wasn't her fault and he didn't regret for a moment the time he spent trying to help her. Looking up at her, he gave her a small smile. "We won't have to worry about that, because it's not going to happen.. I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you." He had to hold on to the faith that everything really would be taken care of at the school this term and that she wasn't in any kind of danger.. or else this separation would be even harder. He nodded as she said she'd be busy anyway.. There was plenty she would have to do - NEWTs, prefect duties, Quidditch.. she wouldn't have too much time to let her feelings get the better of her, he hoped. "You've been doing pretty well in Herbology with my help.." Considering, anyway.. "I'm sure you've learned enough to do just fine. You can always let me know if there's anything you need help with." And he could at least talk her through something.. or she could see Bentley, that's what she was there for. He gave her a sad smile, seeing the shudder and knowing what that was about, then tightened his arm around her shoulder as she laid her head on him.

His eyes snapped up as he heard the obvious sound of the train pulling in to the station and he simply stared at it for a moment. It was really time to say goodbye now.. he couldn't prolong it any more. Within minutes, he'd be watching his girlfriend leave until she faded into the distance, only to be able to see her in that mirror for the next month or so. Ethan looked back at her, giving her a faint smile and shaking his head lightly. "It's never an obligation.. I want to spend time with you.." He looked down for a moment, knowing it was going to be hard to be apart this term but not wanting to make it more difficult for her to say goodbye. "I'm going to make plenty of time for it," he added, looking up with a small smile.

He smiled a bit bigger, hearing her words, and he put his arms around her, bringing her in for a hug. "I love you so much Minerva.. I'll be counting the days till I see you again," he said, his voice filled with emotion. He held her for a few minutes as she hugged him back and he took a couple deep breaths, hearing her words. Nodding a bit and smiling, he said, "I'll look forward to hearing from you.." Holding her for a few minutes longer, he pulled slightly away to look into those beautiful blue eyes again. Lifting his hand, he gently wiped the tears that escaped her eyes and leaned in to kiss her lips before he was letting her go.
