Landon felt even more of a heartbreak when she confirmed that she did have a boyfriend. How could he have been so stupid? Instead of arguing with her, he only had one question. "No, I don't want to go look at pogo sticks. I-uh..." He walked over to her, "...is the guy at least nice to you? He treats you right?" Because if this guy didn't, then Landon was definitely going to have to talk to him.

He realized he was still holding the action figure in his hands because his grip was tightening. He lightened his hold on it and set it back down on the shelf. He looked back at Melanie with a blank look. "I-I hope things aren't weird now because you know and...yeah." He nodded. He was sure she knew that he liked her and if she didn't, well how oblivious could she be?
