"So what's in the bag? Is it someone's birthday?" Melanie asked, trying to peer into it. Nope. She couldn't see a thing. If it was someone's birthday, Melanie really hoped it wasn't someone she knew because then she'd feel bad about forgetting.

Landon laughed. "I'll keep that in mind for next time." He shook his head. He doubted Ryan would ever do that anyways unless Melanie would give him the idea. Wait a second. Did she just insult his hugs? "What? My hugs are the best." He said, crossing his arms and making an angry face sort of like what five-year-olds do.

"Yeah, but they look like unicorn horns sometimes unless you're a rebel now." He chuckled. At least he wouldn't have to be on high alert today to make sure she wouldn't fall down because of those dreaded things. He was already nervous. "Thanks. I think this is the one you actually stole that one day...or maybe it was the green one." He said, taking off his beanie and looking at it. He wasn't one to remember the color of his beanies all that well. "Never mind, it was the green one you took before." He chuckled, fixing his hair. "Here." He said, taking his beanie and putting it on Melanie's head. "I know that face too well." He grinned. It was the 'I want your beanie now' face and he had seen it a couple times before.

And before he knew it, Melanie was trying to look inside the bag. "Uh yes, it is...that guys birthday." He said turning to a random person. He tapped on the guys' shoulder and quickly turned around, pretending to look at something on the shelves. Once he saw that the guy turned back around he turned back towards Melanie and started laughing. Oh that trick never failed to make him laugh. "No, it's actually for you. Not for him." He grinned, handing the bag over to her. "I uh-just saw this when I was in a store with Daphne the other day and thought you'd like it." He shrugged. Hopefully she'd like it.
