What happened to the good karma that was meant to follow?
Tomorrow he would take the stairs, all of them. Then there would be no woman practically throwing herself at him. This love potion testing was seeming less and less like a good idea. She should have paid him a compliment then moved on. That would have been FAR MORE APPRECIATED than her standing this close. What if she made a wrong move and damaged his faaace?
Another smirk tugged at his lips, she'd called him gorgeous, but it disappeared just as quickly.
In a lift this crowded how was it possible for her to get any closer? "Excellent. Another possible success. I'll take it--" A sudden jerking of the lift horizontally nearly sent him right at the woman that wasn't very far from him but he'd managed to hold on firmly, swaying only a bit. "Look," he straightened, hoping to ease her off. "I'm glad you like my face, really, I do too but you don't have to admire it so up close." Geddit? Back up. Between looks of horror and smug smirking, Emily couldn’t tell if this dude was enjoying the game or not. But if he was, then it was her cue to stop. She didn’t want to give him the wrong impression after all.
She was however confused and not liking the sound of being a success. No no no, Mr Weirdo, SHE was not his success. Nope. Never. Pretty faces weren’t enough to temp her.
Emily didn’t have the opportunity to interject and set him straight, the ruddy lift made sure of that. If she wasn’t so sure footed, she’d have gone flying into the nutjob. Instead she managed to get away with lightly brushing up against him. He wouldn’t mind? Would he? It WAS an accident. “It’s a free country,” she murmured after righting herself, taking the opportunity to start distancing herself. Though, not too much. She dudn’t want the weirdo to get what he wanted. “And last I checked it wasn’t illegal...” because she knew these things.
