The look on his face was what got her to stop laughing. The question though, had her expression falling. Nothing severe but noticeable. "She'd been around for a while I guess...probably since two years after Mum did...coming around to 5 years I guess." Funny how despite her father's promises that the woman would grow on her she DIDN'T.

She used the next thing he said as a distraction from that thought. Garrick was taking it pretty hard. In all honesty, that was expected. Lottie was a lot like her, they tried not to focus on the negatives. Besides, he seemed like he took everything hard. "She must have too if she asked him to just be friends. Way I heard it he was ignoring her--a lot." She paused, tilting her head and giving him an especially curious look. "If I were snogging you then just stopped talking to you, how would you feel?" Thing is, Lottie was a saint. Lex wouldn't have let him off so easy.

Her eyes fell to his pocket with his odd toad. "Sounds like the type of pet to get you into a lot of messes. Isn't he fun? Felix doesn't let me have any fun if he can help it." The kneazle cared too much some times.

Lex shrugged at his next question, trying to play it off. "Not really, but I haven't been eating much this last term so it doesn't matter. I'll have Daddy take a look at it when I get to the station, we might just make a quick stop at the dentist." NOT something she was looking for but this was her birthday, she WANTED her candy.

"Suit yourself." Least she wouldn't have to watch him eat it--Hmm? He spoke so quickly that she almost never heard what he'd asked. Almost. "I am. I'll be free a lot. Why?"
