Laura’s loud ‘Nooo’ made Gwen feel very sorry that she was leaving. She was leaving from Hogwarts. After seven years in a place it was impossible not to be attached, apparently.
‘Afraid not’, she answered the first question with a sigh.
She hugged the younger Hufflepuff.
‘I’m going to miss you’ Now here was something she didn’t think she would be saying to a
Hufflepuff when she was a firstie.
‘You will write, won’t you?’, the seventh year asked. They would still keep in touch after she would graduate. And there would be Diagon Alley. And Hogsmeade. But who was she kidding?! It wouldn’t be the same.

Any plans after this?” Probably the biggest question of the night for the seventh years, right?
Ugh.
The dreaded question.
‘How are you?’ ‘I don’t have the slightest idea’, Gwen wanted to reply, but managed to stop herself.
‘I’m alright’, she said, raising her shoulders a bit.
‘You? Looking forward to the summer holiday?’ Quite many people had their summer planned ahead, and Gwen just hoped they would have the time to meet around Diagon Alley. Because she was determined to spend some time there.
‘Thank you’, she replied with a genuine smile (now this was something- Gwendolyn Greene smiling!).
‘I’m going to continue my studies’ University yada yada yada.
‘I want o become a healer’, the seventh year said enthusiastically.

... well done.
And she continued to the Slytherin table.
After she said goodbye to her friends, the seventh year noticed that she had never spent so much time at the Puff table. Ever. Weird. Standing up, Gwendolyn started walking back to her own house table.
In her way, she noticed someone.
‘Hello, Professor Lafay’, the seventh year greeted. Should she stay and say goodbye (since she wouldn't be coming back to Hogwarts) or keep walking?
Decisions, decisions...
