Oh! What he said. Skurge. That was what she was supposed to use, and of course now she remembered learning it in that one DADA lesson. Clearly she needed to study that stuff along with the duel rules because she was gonna fail her OWLs at this rate. Good thing she had another whole year till then. And she wasn't super worried anyway.
It didn't even occur to her that it probably wasn't in the rules to help your opponent. Seemed perfectly normal to her that Dylan would help even during a duel. So she simply nodded and cast Skurge on her shoes, pleased to see the ectoplasm disappear finally. She lifted a foot to make sure...and grinned when she actually could lift it. Awesome. "Thanks, she told him. For reminding her and stuff.
And now...he was suggesting something? He was gonna cast his spells nonverbally... That. would definitely make things more challenging than they already were, but that only made her want to accept even more. Penelope wasn't gonna back down just because something was more challenging. That made it even better really. So she nodded again. "Okay. Sounds good." And she quickly got in a ready stance, watching extra carefully this time.
And as she watched, she saw him preparing to cast something... She didn't immediately know what spell it was, but it was something. So quickly, as soon as it was cast, she cast, "Protego!" and watched as the spell bounced off her shield and against a wall. Yes! Success!
Now counter attack... "Rictusempra!"
Tickling charm...Oh, that was a good one.
Dylan gave her a wide grin before
"Protego!"'ing the charm as it soared towards him. All it took was an upward flick! and the silver light ping'd off, hitting a nearby dummy in the face. It hit it with some force, too...So, he'd need to be careful. Like during the practicing he and Alice had done for the Defense longterm assignment, he'd taught her entirely too well. He had NOT forgotten her making him bald. NO. He most definitely had NOT.
The Slytherin took some relaxing breaths...because that whole ordeal hadn't been Penelope's fault...and Dylan wasn't going to take it out on her...So, more breathing....All the breathing that could happen for relaxation and centering himself.
Focusing, focusing, focusing....He was picturing ropes coming out and encircling her body...Just flying out of his wand tip and wrapping the Gryffindor up tightly right in front of him. He could see the image clearly in his mind's eye...It was there....All he had to do was make it happen....Focus, focus, focus....
He distinctly pointed his wand at her...
Incarcerous!
Not immediately...but a few long seconds later, the ropes appeared and flew at Penelope! WOULD THEY SNATCH HER UP?!
