They could think he was nuts all they wanted to. He really didn't mind.
...and then Alice was calling out to him a fourth time. The Slytherin stopped everything he was doing and immediately took aim. Endurance training and needing to focus at a moment's notice. That's what he'd been pushing to perfect...He knew that he had fantastic focus as it was...but it was the precision that could've been worked on a bit.
Dylan wanted it to be perfect.
Nothing else would do.
"Flipendo!" His wand went through the checkmark squiggle and then there was BLUE LIGHT spilling out of his wand. It erupted and sought out the practice dummy with a vengeance...Dylan paused momentarily...the spell ping'ing off Alice's shield and coming right for him. Using his seeker speed, the Captain ran for it...scattering like a bug might when faced with a predator.
"Protego!" He stopped running...the spell crashing into his shield charm...Merlin, he needed to stop casting it so strongly...EEP.
"I think that was a good one."
...And he was running again.
Had his spell ricocheted off that hard? Was it because her shield was so strong, or because Dylan's jinx had been so well cast? Alice tried to consider it as she cast the next Finite on the dummy. She'd been practicing the shield a lot lately, and had done so for a whole two hours for her spellwork last week... but the Slytherin was probably equally talented at jinxes. So it was probably him, wasn't it?
Pity. It would have been awesome to make such a good shield.
"Contego dummy!" Upwards zig zag, and her last shield was done. Quickly pocketing her wand again, she started running about behind Dylan for her own weekly exercise and waited for him to cast the last knockback jinx. What was he doing? Stopping short and then switching directions? Alice tried to imitate best as she could.
This was strenuous. It reminded her a little of the workouts that Selina used to make them do.
Which made it strenuous and FUN, too.
