He spun his wand between his fingers as he entered the room and spotted several people at work.
And there was a smallish Hufflepuff working by himself, which suited Mo just fine. "Hey," he gave the boy a nod as he took up position nearby. "What are you working on, then?"
It had to be better than Mo's plan to work on his shield spell using a rubber ball off the opposite wall. He was trusting his reflexes... probably more than he ought to trust them. Mo rummaged in his satchel and removed the ball before giving it a few practice bounces off the opposite wall.
There seemed to be a whole bunch of dummies available for use, some that even moved. But Tobias felt that that would be kind of pushing it a bit; he didn't know if he could even do the spell yet, let alone on a MOVING dummy. No, the stationary one was fine.
BRILLIANT. So... that was a plan.
Vaguely, Tobias heard someone else come in even as he went over the spell in his head. He hoped he would get in trouble for, you know, setting things on fire. At his old school that was kind of... frowned upon.
Hearing the other boy talk, presumably to him, Tobias looked over and gave him a smile.
"Hi!" he responded, eyes following the ball that the boy was throwing. He looked familiar, but Tobias couldn't place it. There were loads of people in this place.
"Oh, I'm practicing some spells." Duh, obviously Tobias. "The fire one. The book says it's a duelling spell... What's the ball for?"
Toby realised he'd been staring at it, and kinda turned back to face the dummy he was working on. Okay... what was the spell? Incendio. Better practice saying that first.
"Insend-yo... no... In-sen-dee-oh. In-sendee-oh. Incendio. InCENdio." Was that a spark that just flew off the end of his wand? Hmmm... maybe he'd have time for a FEW spells.
