Ancient Runes [Post #17] Zombie Apocalypse Team Leader ★ ★ in a crown of pepperoni and artisan cheese
After the moon had done its magic on with the runeless galdr, Dylan was back at the Slytherin study tables...staring down at it. It was time to start the carving process...and it was going to be a lengthy task. There were 24 runes that needed to go on this thing...That was A LOT of chanting...and focusing....and concentrating....
Pulling the textbook, the Slytherin Captain flipped through its pages, looking for the list of runes, chants, and descriptions. A bunch of logic that was about to go into this portion of the assignment. Dylan knew it and was ready, though...So, the question was....where to start...?
Given what the wood was...it seemed most obvious to go with Ansuz. That was Odin's rune, right?...And yew wood represented Odin. It was perfectly aligned in all areas....and he was definitely getting some vibes about it. It FELT right to carve it near the top of the galdr, straight-up and proud...because it was a very important, being Odin's rune and all. Breeeeeeeath.
Holding the galdr with one hand and his wand in the other, he got in the zone. SEE THE RUNE. Be the rune...."Intaglio Annnnsssuuuuzz..." Dylan had his concentration face on, allowing his mouth to form the letters and vowel sounds. "Intaglio Ansuz...Intaglio Ansuz...Intaglio Ansuz..." With care and precision, he allowed his wand to guide his hand in tracing out the singular rune..."Intaglio Ansuz...Intaglio Ansuz..." He was repeating the spell and name...Not drawing it out....Seemed to be doing the trick, anyway...and Dylan sighed with relief when he was able to move on and analyze the next.
Yep, wasn't going to think about it too much....He could let his mind choose. Dylan didn't really know why...but he felt confident with just allowing it to come naturally...He'd been up close and personal with that yew tree...Dylan felt like he knew things about that tree, now. Like some sort of energy had been passed onto him through that really odd heartbeat...he'd felt. Yep, totally still remembered that one...vividly. Othala.
Othala needed to be next...and would bring a strong sense of commitment to the galdr...making that bond stronger than it already was. Bond between wood and man...Breath..."Intaglio Othala..." Merlin, this was one of his favorites to say out loud..."Intaglio Othala...Intaglio Othala...Intaglio Othala..."
