Carving her whole name, first and last, was going to take ages, but Alice was okay with it, because Runes was her favorite. It just made sense. She wanted to write a longer message, too, but she'd already decided on something short to not strain her newfound rune writing abilities. Because she had those now.
It made sense. It did.
Message done! Ta-daaah. Hahaha, no. "That would be a tad unfair to your friends." Because Botros was POSITIVE everyone would be interested in a summer extra Runes class. Who blamed them?! Runes were crazy fun. He did flash the Gryffindor a shifty smirk, though. Text Cut: Asher Quote:

After listening to him explain and write out a few of Asher's missing words, the boy gave it another go.
Asher really hoped he was at least headed in the right direction. He didn't want to start carving until he was more sure of himself. He placed his parchment on the Professors desk. "Thank you for the help." Nodding, satisfied with the boy's work, Botros gave him an extra big smile. "That's what I'm here for. Great job." For such a little boy, he was quite gifted with runes! So it was just KAC and that meant in runes....Kenaz, Ansuz and Sowilo. Then he corrected Cassia. It was just a simple S. Now he wanted him to do it on his own? I guess he could. He looked up and saw a gentle smile on his face. Kace smiled back and said "Thank you Professor i shall do it now." and then went to work. Scribble....Scribble...Scribble.... SPOILER!!: Parchment! He wondered if he did it right? It looked better than before that is for sure. Now all he had to do was to write out the letter for Cassia and give it to her. He could do this. He did miss Marigold in this class though.... Botros smiled and nodded at Kace. He corrected the boy's work one last time before he went off to his desk to start working on writing the message and carve the name. SPOILER!!: Kace's Parchment Rune Replacement For My Name:

The fifth year fussed over her wood and parchment a little more before hopping out of her seat and wandering off in search of the professor, circling the room a couple of times before she found him. "Here you go, Mister Ab," Alice said quietly, tugging on his sleeve and handing him her project, purposely not calling him by his professor name. Because he said that was for when he was teaching, but he was her friend right now, so Mister Ab it was.
She grinned at him real big before heading back to her seat. It would have been a good time to smile more, except smiling was just.. effort. And Alice still felt a little sad inside. Moping sounded like a better option. Text Cut: Notes + Graphics Writing Rules:

S - Sowilo Carving Parchment ... hmm? Botros turned when someone tugged on his sleeve. "Wh- Oh." AWWW. How sweet! He gave her a bright touched smile, with watery eyes and all, "Thank you, Alice." Friends talking over here.
He inspected the wood piece with her name on it, and ran his fingers over it cleaning the tiny bits of shavings. That was correct. It was a bit confusing whether to look at her work as a teacher or a friend. Botros thought it was great in both aspects so far, so kudos! He unfolded the parchment and read what she wrote in a second. Awww he was thinking this a lot today, he smiled widely again and gave her a thumps-up; GREAT work and THANK YOU. Text Cut: Dylan Quote:

Putting the burin down...FINALLY...the Slytherin pulled his wand and tapped at his chin thoughtfully. Now, how much did he want to cut off these sides? That was the question...It was a perfect square in shape, yes...and he wanted to maintain that...So, just a little. Nothing too dramatic...
Taking some deep breaths, Dylan carefully cut at the wood at an angle...making sure to keep his hand steady and sure. Didn't want to cut into the desk or anything. That would've most-likely been frowned upon...After the top-side was cut away, he moved onto the next side, matching up the angle to the first...before also cutting that away. Dylan had a good eye for things like that...Math. He loathed it...but surprisingly enough, he was rather good at the subject...
After the second side was completed, the third and fourth joined them. Surveying his work, the Slytherin nodded (to himself, of course) and cleared the excess wood scraps away. Now to polish it... "Poliotus!" Dylan moved his wand in an 'S' shape over the wooden plank, now carved with the names of all his teammates. A few seconds later, it GLEAMED...now polished thanks to a spell Professor Knox had taught them. Thank you, Professor Knox.
Now to duplicate things...
He'd need......ten copies as he'd keep the original. So, putting the 'plaque' in the center of his desk, Dylan focused his magic. FOCUSED. "Geminio!" Flick. After the first copy popped up, he repeated the action nine more times... "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick! "Geminio!" Flick!
Same with the parchment. After carefully stacking the wood pieces in the corner of his desk, the Captain laid the parchment out front and center, focusing again. After Geminio!ing and flick!ing those the appropriate amount of times, he was totally done.
Wait...
Should he write translations, too? What if members of his team didn't know what it meant?
Dylan pondered on that a moment. Meh, if they asked, he'd tell them. "Professor! All done!" Oh yes, another one of whom Botros had high expectations. The professor moved over to Dylan's desk and picked up his parchment. "Oh, a real letter. Quite impressive, Captain Montmorency." He then focused on the script. It took him a moment to decipher it all before he patted the young... MAN's shoulder and leaning closer to him. "This is a beautiful message to write to your team, great job, son." He got his wand out then and pointed at few runes, "There are two mistakes in the end here. No need for Hagalaz in this word, replace it with Tiewaz instead. And then in this one, remove those two and add Thurisaz." But Botros didn't want the boy to mess the lovely ink-job so he corrected it for him before looking at one of the pieces of wood. "Very beautiful. This one is perfect." He returned it on the desk and smiled at his protégé. |
