Alexa's eyes shot to the older girl who had a valid point. It was something she was thinking too but she had her doubts because that breathing was shaky, the bad kind, not the scared kind. Before she could point that out the door swung open and there they were.

Lex took a step back but that was all she managed. The cold that followed them chilled her to her bone. Nothing in her could remember how to move, her mind was filled with only the worst thoughts. This was a new kind of sadness and she didn't figure she wanted to die like this.

"Alice." She whispered, hoping she would do something. Felix began squirming in her hand, silently hissing at the thing and pawing at it occasionally.

Her last line of defense was a kneazle unless her Captain could pull something off.
