What the tool is called and what it's used for?

Alec looked down at the tool on his desk and tilted his head. What was it called? And used for? He had no idea. And it certainly didn't help to know that Botros had mentioned it before this term. Had he mentioned a funny name at some point? Something that maybe sounded old and something Runes people would talk about excitedly?

Frowning slightly, he sat back and thought back to the previous lesson. They... had learnt... how to carve runes. Alec specifically remembered that bit because of the whole courage thing you needed when carving the runes. And then there was the part with the maze where they had heard creatures.

So... he was going to guess. Yep. "Erm... Professor?" he started, raising his hand in the air, "Can you use this tool as another way to carve runes? And you have to chant the Galdr of the rune as well?" You know, sort of like a wand substitute. Unless a wand was used to help this specific rune carving process too.

... He... really needed to study more Ancient Runes.
