"No problem! I'm just glad you're not hurt!" BEAM. She'd suggested the Butterfly garden. If he'd hurt himself it would have been her fault. Who's to say, maybe he would have been perfectly fine if they visited the whomping willow--okay maybe not the whomping willow but you got the idea.

She was DEFINITELY convinced he was fine when he began chanting so she plopped to the ground and began working on her own branch again, this time stripping away the bark carefully so as not to ruin the branch itself. She didn't want to start that whole offering sacrifices, first chant, cut, second chant thing again. Nooooo. She was being VERY careful.

Once she was done she began collecting the shavings of the bark and heaping them together into one pile. It was easier that way.

Next she pulled a small pouch from her candy bag and began loading the shavings into it. There! Now to write the thing a song and they could get out of here.
Well, it wasn't exactly 100% that he wasn't hurt, but he wasn't hurt badly. Just his pride... and at least his branch didn't get hurt. Mo examined it again, just to be sure, before plopping down with his back against the hazel tree. Now he just had to strip off the bark and he'd be all set.

Easy, right?

He dug his thumb into one end and tried to strip the bark with his fingers, but when that resulted in just pulverizing the end of his stick, Mo sighed deeply and removed his knife. So it was going to be the hard way, huh? Or not... once he started stripping off the bark, it only took a few short minutes and a few long slices before his branch was bark free. The long strips of bark were coiled and tucked away in a pouch.
