Ethan's green eyes wandered towards the direction of the greenhouses as he saw a figure approaching. He could tell by the shape and gait that it was Professor Bentley, even from a bit of a distance away, and he allowed a faint smile to appear on his lips as she neared.
"I did, Professor," he nodded at her words then followed her inside once she had opened the door. "I just wanted to talk to you about a few things actually.." Once his teacher was seated, the Prefect did the same, sitting across from her at her prompting. He did not plan on taking up too much of her time, knowing that she was busy.. maybe even more so than usual.. but he felt the need to see her today.
An apple? His eyes fell on the basket and he happily nodded, before taking one for himself. "Thanks, Professor," he grinned before taking a bite. "So, how's everything going?" He tilted his head towards her swollen belly as he chewed thoughtfully for a moment, figuring it was polite to start with niceties before jumping in to anything major.
But he also didn't want to take up too much of her time, so after a moment, he leaned back and said, "One of the reasons I wanted to talk to you today has to do with an Ancient Runes assignment, actually.." Which was probably an odd reason to see the Herbology professor, admittedly.. but he had his reasons. "We are supposed to use some bark to create a runic wand.. and there is a certain tree I would like to cut a piece of bark from, but I wanted to ask your permission first."
If it weren't for the natural sugars, Seren would probably have crashed on her desk, and quite happily at that, but as it were, she was perfectly alert and in a good mood.
"Mmm, good, finalising a few last minute things before I take my leave," she mused after swallowing a bite. The prospect of not seeing the term through felt strange, but she'd done everything she needed to, so no harm done.
Taking another bite of her apple, Seren listened as Ethan launched into a discussion of... Runes? Was he aware it wasn't her strong suit? ... But of course, he wasn't asking about Runes per se. That was a relief. Though what he said next, was not a relief, at all.
On the one hand, Ethan was lovely enough to ask for permission... but she wondered how many students were going around hacking at trees, her trees. The schools trees! ... well granted, if it was bark they were after, then, it wasn't so bad. Seren only hoped the students didn't go over board.
"Mmm, and which tree would that be?" she asked, she wasn't a legilimens after all.
