It glided back towards it's ambush partner, fingers twitching as it stared around the chaos, while the other moved closer to it's finale ending with the female professor.
Before either could act further, a silver hippogriff collided against them, driving them back a few feet. One after the other, the silvery hippogriffs pushed the dementors further back despite their attempts to swoop in through the bright lights. Rather than fighting it any longer, the dementors glided off into the shadows, lingering nearby as they looked for their next opening, yet still visible from the few still lit torches and moonlight every now and then.
Oh no, how awful, this was terrible, the dementors were still attacking, as dementors are wont to do. Etc. Erik was having difficulty conjuring up some sadness for the Arithmancy professor's predicament. He would have been laughing if it were the Headmistress on the ground and not her....
Still, the sight of the retreating dark creatures was supposed to be a good thing, so he continued to send his hippogriffs in their direction.
Back to the forest now with you lot. The hippogriffs formed a silver band around the children still out there, a nice, solid, protective band. He was such a good professor, wasn't he? He could have sat back and done nothing...speaking of doing nothing, where was Ivy? Erik would have looked for her were he not busy concentrating here.

"I sent for vhe Healer," Erik answered simply, his blue eyes reflecting the bright patronuses as he waited and stood guard over the other professor.
Whether or not she would be all right...it was not his place to say.
"You should head back to vhe castle, Ms. Wheatborn. Vhere's nothing more to be done here."
