And he felt broken, like all the jagged pieces he'd been trying to hard to knit back together were just raw and open again.

The thing was, though... he'd been living with that feeling all term, and it didn't immobilize him anymore. He slumped a little, and his grip on Cat loosened to the point that he dropped her hand. But then he grabbed it again, squeezing too tightly. "You don't have to be happy. Your thoughts. Just hold onto something strong. Home is good. And cupcakes and Toby."

Because he knew Cat wanted to go, and he was going to go with her, but first... "Help Pen make Alice leave and I'm gonna get the Gryffindor." He nodded at Lex. "And then we'll go to the castle, ok?"

"You're going," Mo practically growled at Lex as he charged at her, his shoulder hitting her low and his arms going around her until he had her hefted up over his shoulder like a sack of... something you kept in sacks.

If Lex didn't go, Alice and Pen would never go, and then other people would stay and then no one would go. So it all started with the stubbornest Gryffindor ever, and she was going. He'd hex her straight off if she argued with him.
Mo was squeezing her hand really tight but Cat barely even noticed it. Her eyes were still focused on the patronus but she did hear him when he spoke. Cupcakes and Toby. Those were good things to think about for sure, but home made her think about her family and her brothers and the sad was making her feel homesick and that wasn't helping whatsoever.

She was spurred by the leaving thing. It was definitely a good idea to put as much distance between the dementors and herself as possible. "Okay." Right. Okay. She was rather unsure that Alice would budge, but she could try. She could be a good friend even if she was super sad and homesick.

This term, the one in the middle of the pitch? And another by Kat's goalposts and that last one when you guys crashed into Penelope.." Quidditch stats were helping, right? "And those ones against us, near the hoops when you had to dive? And.. and again really high up in the air, there was one I couldn't see.. and that one that went all around the stadium.."

And Oakey! Was he going to share his candy or what? "Did you HEAR your Head Boy? If you aren't a student leader, EVACUATE. LEAVE NOW. I CAN STILL USE MY TEETH WHEN DEMENTORS ARE AROUND." Just saying. And why was there a guy throwing chocolate at her? "PROFESSOR KNOX! PROFESSOR VINTEREN?" Where were they?

She rubbed at her eyes and tried not to look like she was crying, because she totally wasn't. Really.
As she made her way over to her friend, Cat was almost glad, as much as she could be, to see that there was finally a professor here that wasn't being attacked by dementors. Good. Maybe Alice WOULD leave.

She touched the girl's arm and gave her a little tug. "Come with us, Alice Palace. Don't cry." Really, don't cry cause then Cat would cry too.
