There it was, right beside her name.. he had been so focused on the name, he didn't notice the position. "You must really take after her then.." he mused aloud, looking back at her and smiling. "I'm really glad that you found this.." It must mean so much to her to find her mother's name on something so closely linked to herself when she knew so very little about her mother's magical past.
Ethan looked back into the display case, his eyes alternating between the two trophies she had pointed out. "It's just really amazing that you did.. and that she played the same position as you." He couldn't imagine what she was feeling right now.. maybe imagining her mother in a game. No wonder she was so excited. Though he did find it rather odd that she hadn't wanted Min to play in any sports, maybe she had gotten injured and didn't want her suffering the same fate. He shuddered at the recent memory.
"Yeah, she's on three that I saw," he said, pointing out the trophies he had seen with his aunt's name on them. "My dad played," he said, turning back to her. "But he didn't go to school here.. he has a couple at Beauxbatons though," he added with a small smile, figuring she got so lost in the excitement she wouldn't have thought of that. He had seen those trophies his first year there. "As for my mum.." Ethan wandered over to the past Slytherin awards. "She wasn't much of an athlete, though I do think she was a reserve at one point." She had only maybe mentioned it once or twice in passing as the sport wasn't really her thing, and he really didn't think it all that likely for her name to be here.
Minerva watched excitedly as Ethan seemed to be taking it all in. She bounced a bit,
"Yeah a beater. I could have never pictured her as a beater. She was always so...girly maybe is the best word." She chuckled a bit which was a nice change.
"Do you think? I mean.. it seems like it, I just always thought maybe I was more like my dad, but now.. " She smile grew thinking about it and she looked back at the case. Taking his hand she squeezed it,
"You're the first person I thought of when I found it. I had to share it with you."
She felt the shudder as she held his hand and nudged him,
"Hey I'm fine.. Don't think about it." She wasn't sure if that was what he was thinking, but since they were talking about injuries she just assumed. Min then smiled and let go of his hand looking towards the other trophies,
"Three? Wow she is such a great player. I think you take after her with quidditch." Why wouldn't he, he was a great player. Blue eyes glanced back at him and a small blush,
"Oh that's right, I'm sorry it slipped my mind." She knew that why did she ask, her mind was really only thinking of her mother when she first came in. This was just beyond amazing in her head.
She watched him head towards the Slytherin trophies, it still shocked her his mom was a slytherin. Not that it was a bad thing, she just didn't picture it. Walking up behind him she put her arms around him.
"It's neat seeing their names on in here, isn't it?" Maybe it was just her way of thinking. It was an exciting weird, but still weird. She walked back over looking at the puff trophies. This was the greatest find ever...
