A pair of chocolate brown eyes turned to Dart once more when he started getting snappy with Gid and he threw the man a look of warning. Dart didn't know who Gidyun was married to, and should anything go completely wrong... well, he liked Dart as an able employee. Shifting a little in his seat to get comfortable, he picked up his quill and started to write for his own benefit. He glanced up only for the job naming and nodded to Harland when he was given his job too. He liked Harland, he was a likeable man who had his head on straight.
When he received a smile from Layla, he responded with a polite nod. Charles didn't smile at people, it was far too informal and he had no one he would want to share informalities with. Elizabeth was a friend and knew him better than others, but there was still a line there. His eyes narrowed a little at Gidyun's assumption that people were okay with being called their first names and he wrote another thing down on his notepad.
His jaw tensed again when Gidyun started talking about them all doubling up as Magical Product Testers too. Really? Didn't everyone here have enough work to get the skin off their noses? He was very close to asking what Gidyun would be doing apart from sitting in his office as the high and mighty. He frowned when the volunteering was mentioned. No, he most definitely would not be volunteering for that. He'd already read the notice and decided it was not for him. His attention was still wholly on Gidyun, though he felt the man hadn't earnt it, and he waited to be dismissed so he could properly greet Layla, and find out whether he was to call her Miss, Ms, or Mrs. Dacosta-McLaughlin did sound like a hyphenated name, though, so he was leaning toward Mrs.
