Awww, she wanted to start with the jinx. Fiiiiine she'd do the shielding. Ironically, she was far better at hexing someone's face off than producing a shield. This wasn't to say she was terrible at them, just far less invested in. The best defense was a good offense. The way she saw it, all she had to do was hex you before you could hex her.
On three? Who's three? Her three--OH, Cassia's three!!!!
Lex drew her wand as quickly as she could. "Contego Training Dummy!" She'd gotten to the dummy just as the jinx did but it moved back by like a inch before standing firm again. Lex scowled. "That could have gone better." She probably wasn't concentrating enough. "Your turn and we're going on the count of three again. One...two..." She paused just in case Cassia needed a bit more time. "Three. Flipendo!" THAT she had no problems casting.
Right after she spoke the spell, Cassia remembered something about the spell. They could hold and charge up the spell so it'd knockback more powerfully? Was that right or was it her imagination? Well, she'll have to wait until it was her turn to try it. Or maybe Lex would do it and she'd just watch and learn. The snake did know that the Gryffindor's skills in hexing were more advanced in shielding. Kinda make her glad to be on Lex's good side. Like how the dummy wasn't
totally shield from Cassia's hex. But it wasn't bad.
Nodding at her friend, the snake held up her wand and quickly revised what she knew about contego in her mind. Shielding another thing. Pretty much it! When Lex reached three, the snake made a zig-zag motion upward in the air and uttered, "
Contego dummy!" Wait did she have to say training dummy? Oh but it worked as the dummy just barely shifted. Though, gotta give it to Lex. She knew how to hex. The blue spark that was shot out of her wand was unmistakable. Was hers too? She forgot to pay attention.
"
Let's name the dummy?" Cassia suggested with a smile so out of topic. It just popped in her head you know. How come the poor dummy doesn't get a name.
Though that needed to be thought through, so now she was going to knock it back first. Maybe Lex had suggestions? "
Okay now on four and I'll be counting from two," She said with a grin. Last thing you wanted during a duel....or a training-on-dummy session, was for the atmosphere to get monotonous. "
Two...Three..." She paused. "
FOUR! Flipendo!" She forgot to power up and all that. Maybe next time. But a blue spark still shot out of her wand.
