Ella was golden ratio hunting, whatever that meant. Yup, she had her notebook and a pencil and a ruler as well. She even had a magnifying glass because little things could represent the golden ration too, y'know. Plus she liked to consider herself the resident Nancy Drew so she'd clearly have one in her possession. Clearly.
The blonde settled down by the duck pond, absently on the lookout for Martin, her favorite little duck. She was sort of puzzled about where she should start on this project but she was on the lookout while she enjoyed the nice weather and the pond. Multitasking for the win!
Hum. Hum. Hummmmmmm.
Oh! An ant. Ella had spotted the movement out of the corner of her eye and she got curious. The Golden Ratio was often found in nature, yeah? Yeah. Grin. The blonde held up her magnifying glass and eyed the little thing with interest, deciding it'd be easier to test her theory if she made him bigger.
"Engorgio!" She only increased his size enough to measure him without much difficult and sure enough, the ratios seemed to fit. Huh. That was interesting!
Scribble. Scribble. Scribble. SPOILER!!: Arithmancy Notes

The first representation of the Golden Ratio that I was able to find was a little ant! The little guy was just crawling along and I got to wondering about all his legs and how they were placed on his body. Ants are a cool shape, y'know, if people bothered to take a closer look at them. Well I decided to get out my ruler and measure the ant, testing out to see if the golden ration applied and guess what? It did! The leg sections and body sections worked with the length of it's body and the golden ration was there..mostly. I'm not sure if my measurements were perfect or anything. I'll leave that to machines and such.
I guess this is significant because it proves the the golden ration exists in nature. I also think it's probably significant because without the proper measurements, the ant would probably walk all funny and not be able to get around places or gather food or things like that.
When she was finished with her notes, Ella shrunk the ant back down to size and packed up her things, continuing her search.
