Alec tucked his hands into his pockets and he watched her as she started walking around the room, a dreamy sort of smile spreading across his face. It was probably creepy of him but sometimes, he just... liked watching her. ... Yeah, that was really creepy. He shook his head and grinned as she came back and hugged him. "Anytime!" he whispered, wrapping his arms around her and giving her an awkward side hug back, "Erm... it might get better?" Might.
"Awesome!" he said, nodding back at her, "Thanks! And... it's not bad to prepare for this, is it?" ... Yeah... someone needed to get him a book on how to be romantic. Before he could think much on what this book could be like, she was leading him over towards the spot and he followed like an obedient puppy.
... BLANKET!
The sixteen year old set the basket down on the grass and moved slightly so that his body was kind of shielding the opening. He opened the basket and reached inside, bringing out the blanket. The basket was closed and the blanket was laid down on the grass as neatly as possible before he turned to the girl and said, "After you!"
"You're welcome." And she wasn't trying to fix his hair, just wanted to touch it. Some people's hair just looked touchable, y'know? Alec had hair like that. And meeep! She made him think his hair didn't look nice? Uh-oh.
"No...no, of course not. It looked nice. Really nice, actually. I just felt like it." Grin. He wasn't cross with her, was he?
Ella grinned at the nudge and nudged Alec back, feeling those butterflies fluttering around in her belly again.
"Thanks. I'm really glad you think so." And could she get gummy worms for something like this? She liked gummy worms.
It might get better? This earned the boy an eyebrow raise and Ella's smile broadened just a bit.
"Really?" She didn't see how it could, it was already pretty amazing.
"Not bad at all," Ella answered, looking up at Alec seriously.
"I think it's nice that you thought this up." Really nice and thoughtful too. She appreciated it.
Whatever was in the basket was top secret, huh? Ella couldn't help but notice the way the boy was guarding the thing. She smiled a bit to herself and shrugged it off, knowing she'd find out eventually.
"Why thank you, kind sir." Grin! Ella flopped down and scooted over, making room for the boy. Could she give him his gifts now?
