He just let her clutch at him and cry her heart out; crying would make her feel a bit better. Jory didn't say anything. He just held her and let her cry while he just stared at the little bundle. He had grown quite fond of the cat. Oliver had been just about everywhere with them. The Train, The Lake and even here at the Pond. He had been there when Jory & Ronnie became a couple. Poor Oliver.
Ronnie clung to Jory, not daring to let go. She still couldn't believe he was gone.
Her Oliver. She had only gotten him two years ago, why'd he have to die so early in age?! Sniffling, she let herself lie down and rest her head on Jory's lap and began to calm down.
"I-I'm sorry you ha-have t-t-to see me like th-this..." she said, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
After a while, she sat up, holding Jory's hand in hers. It was time to bury him. With her free hand, she picked up the little shovel once more and began digging into the ground.
